The Champagne Caveau , Rilly - Philippe Brugnon

Visitors are welcome to sabrage at "Au Vieux Pressoir". Set in the lovely village of Rilly-la-Montagne, Champagne Philippe Brugnon is a well known Champagne house which has been owned by the family Brugnon for over four generations. The majority of the production (65.000 bottles per year) takes place in Rilly in Philippe’s own cellar.

The true love for the Champagne of the family can be tasted in every single bottle. It is probably because of this love that Philippe Brugnon Champagnes have won so many international awards.

A complete collection of Champagnes is produced, solely based on premier cru grapes, varying from the Brut Non-Vintage, the Cuvée Elegance, the classic Rosé and of course the famous Cuvée Brut Premier Cru Millésimé Vintage.

The Mirathon Caveau , Duras - Donald Brewer

Mirathon is a 17th century stone 'Mas' nestling in undulating countryside of meadows, orchards and vineyards, 4 kms from Duras. With sunflowers, rivers, châteaux and bastide towns, this is a pocket of land with all the riches, beauty and diversity for which rural France is renowned.

           

Within the surrounding countryside and, at no great distance, there are a host of local activities including a beautiful swimming lake, fishing, canoeing, riding, golf, cycling (with bicycles available for hire from your hosts) and of course the opportunity to sample the many wines produced in the area - Bordeaux, St Emilion, Bergerac, Monbazillac and the local Duras.

Mirathon has been very carefully restored to retain a great number of the original beams and stone walls. The gîtes have been finished to an extremely high standard, being individually designed and decorated. These delightful gîtes offer relaxed and comfortable accommodation with the added benefits of fully equipped kitchens (with full size cookers, fridge/freezers and microwaves), and modern bathrooms. The gîtes all have satellite television and videos.

Melbourne , Australia – Paul Bidgood

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Chevalier Paul Bidgood, Regional General Manager of Mirvac Hotels and Resorts, Melbourne, Victoria, as the Consul-General for the United Kingdom Chapter of the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or. Members will remember that Paul became our first Caveau Maître (The Café Royal) in March 2000 and hosted our first Chapitre in May that year and our third Chapitre at The Grosvenor House the following year.
