


A full turnout of almost 250 Members and guests joined us for the first Gala Dinner to be held at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington. The Hotel became a Caveau de Sabrage i August with general manager Graham Bamford as Maitre Sabreur. An excellent dinner was followed by enthusiastic dancing on the spacious floor.
A special event was included in the order of Investitures when Philippe Brugnon, whose products have given us so much enjoyment - sabraged a jeroboam and was invested as Commandeur of the Confrerie, the highest rank possible. Naturally the champagne was Philippe's own vintage. Seven Chevaliers were promoted to Officier-Sabreur and seventeen sabreurs became Chevaliers. Some further 30 guests made their novice sabrage.
